The Last Overdose

End the overdose crisis by building Awareness

Welcome to the Last Overdose. We are glad you are here because you are a crucial piece of the story to solve this complex puzzle. After losing both of our children to the opioid pandemic, we were driven to take action to prevent this tragedy from happening to other families.

With your support, we will put an end to this American created crisis in honor of all of our youth who fought the tough addiction fight but lost the battle. We owe this to them to keep their legacy alive and prevent their death from being in vain. We can do better for our children and they deserve it.

Everyone we know has been impacted by substance use disorder in one way or another. There are a lot of disparate efforts underway and we want to coalesce and create a megaphone unified voice to end overdose deaths.

Substance use disorder can impact ANYONE. It is non-discriminatory.

  1. Education and awareness – substance use disorder is a disease, not a choice
    • Local leaders
    • Police
    • Legislature
  2. Creating communities around shared experiences and stories and making connections
  3. Prevent with policy changes that support evidenced based treatment and holding politicians accountable

*Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional or expert on addiction. First and foremost, I am a parent. Secondly, I am a typical A-type personality and an average American who has worked in the high-tech industry corporate world. I am sharing what we have learned from our firsthand experience raising 2 kids/young adults with substance use disorder and their treatments. This was a whole new world for us about 8 years ago when it all started. We knew enough to know this was beyond our expertise and we were ill prepared, so we sought out to learn everything we could from the experts, including an entire new dictionary and acronyms that expanded our vocabulary.
